Search across several providers
MetaGer is a German metasearch service operated by the non-profit association SUMA-EV. It combines results from several search engines and offers web and image search. Available sources and result features can change, so check the current settings for the searches you need.
Access and costs
You use MetaGer with a randomly generated key instead of a conventional account. Search access is funded by prepaid tokens; it is not a generally free search service. SUMA-EV members can use it without additional search charges. The current pricing page explains token packages and costs, which can depend on the sources selected.
Privacy and anonymous browsing
The provider describes MetaGer as advertising-free and designed without search tracking or logging. It also offers a remote private browser for opening websites. Payment providers may process personal data depending on the payment method. These product statements do not establish that every use is anonymous or legally compliant.
Source code and practical limits
MetaGer publishes its source code and describes its algorithms as transparent. As a metasearch service, it depends on external search providers. Compare its results for your usual topics and review the current terms before relying on it for sensitive research.
