What can you do with Waterfox?
Desktop features include tree-style tabs, private tabs within a regular window and configurable ad-blocking filters. Firefox WebExtensions are supported, and common browser data can be imported. Check whether your particular extensions work before switching.
Privacy and updates
The developer says browser telemetry is removed and DNS queries can use an encrypted relay arrangement. Waterfox incorporates Mozilla security fixes following the Firefox ESR model. These features do not make websites anonymous or replace regular browser updates.
Cost and compatibility
The browser is free and does not require an account. Funding includes search partnerships, donations and an optional Private Search subscription. Chrome-only extensions do not transfer automatically; legacy Firefox add-on support should not be assumed for the current browser.
