What does LightOn Core do?
Core is the document-processing and search layer. LightOn describes support for PDFs, scans, emails and spreadsheets, with extraction, indexing and answers linked to sources. Its product page lists connections to models from Anthropic, Mistral and OpenAI. Model choice and deployment therefore matter when assessing data flows.
How does LightOn Apps use that knowledge?
Apps builds business workflows on Core, combining search, tools, templates and review steps. Examples on the product page include policy lookups, contract questions and case summaries. LightOn says access follows existing permissions and teams can monitor adoption, usage and costs. Validate these controls with your own documents during a pilot.
Evaluation and procurement
The current website offers demos and API test access. Ask for a quotation covering your document volumes, integrations, deployment and support needs. Confirm which models receive data, where processing occurs and how permissions and logging work before introducing sensitive information. A European vendor name alone is not proof of compliance.
